2. Purposes and legal basis

Data is processed to administer invited beta participation, document accepted participation terms, evaluate pre-release reliability and usability, prioritise improvements and maintain auditable test records. The principal basis for ordinary test evidence is the controller’s legitimate interest. The legitimate interests pursued are securely administering a voluntary closed beta, identifying and correcting pre-release reliability and usability problems, and preserving verifiable test evidence. Participants may exercise applicable objection rights.

Providing the required portal data is not a statutory obligation. It is required under the beta participation arrangement to use the corresponding access or submission function. If required data are not provided, that access or submission cannot be completed. Optional fields need not be completed.

3. Data categories

The beta uses a pseudonymous tester identifier, participation/acceptance records, device and Android-version information, broad tester categories, task outcomes, assistance, attempts, duration, ratings, issue reports and exit feedback. The portal does not request a name or email address.

4. Special-category data

The portal does not request health, disability or other special-category data. Do not enter such information into free-text fields. Any future study that intentionally needs special-category data requires a separate design and explicit legal basis before collection.

5. Service provider and international processing

The website and beta use Cloudflare infrastructure. Cloudflare necessarily processes network request data when providing the service. Cloudflare states that, when it transfers personal data from the European Economic Area internationally, it relies as applicable on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, including supplementary measures where necessary. The applicable safeguards and copies are described and made available through Cloudflare’s published Data Processing Addendum and GDPR Trust Hub.

6. Retention

Individual beta records are retained for no longer than 730 days and may be deleted earlier when no longer necessary. Short-lived access/session records expire much sooner. A minimal deletion receipt may be retained for up to 90 days.

7. Rights and deletion

Applicable rights may include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and, where its legal conditions are met, data portability, as well as the right to complain to the competent data-protection authority. Rights may be exercised by contacting the controller at the registered office stated above. The same assigned tester code can also be used below to request deletion of matching beta records.
